Dynamic microfluidic mixing triggered by an external LED illumination

We describe a dynamic control of microfluidic mixing triggered by light,'11 a much-needed operation for future all-optofluidic chips. Here, light provided by an external LED illumination device induces the generation of water microdroplets that act as reversible stirrers of two continuous oil phase flows containing samples to be mixed.
