Wind energy is one of the most nature and cost effective resources among different renewable energy technologies. However, short circuit capacity of the power system increases with introduction of wind power generators. The use of fault current limiter (FCL) is proposed to solve this issue. In this paper, the effect of bridge-type superconducting fault current limiter on dynamic performance of grid connected to wind energy conversion system (WECS) is analyzed. The WECS is considered as a fixed-speed system that is equipped with a squirrel-cage induction generator. The drive-train is represented as two-mass model. The simulation results show that using bridge-type SFCL improve dynamic performance of the WECS. PSCAD/EMTDC software is used for simulation.
