Advanced Timing Monitoring and Control Systems in Space

摘要

In this paper the importance of timing monitoring andcontrol systems for satellite navigation systems isexplained and the current design and performance isdetailed. Based on this, the composite clock concept forclock generation is introduced and the improvedperformance is analyzed. In order to reflect constraintsintroduced by the fact that the timing monitoring andcontrol system needs to be based on a satellite likereduced computing power a new approach is developedand analyzed with reduced complexity. The paper willprovide some details about the current state of the art oftiming monitoring and control systems and performanceimprovements with a composite clock approach adaptedto the constraints of space flight requirements.
