The article deals with the use of force, especially impulse of force in self-defence. It also brings attention to the facts that scientific measurements and experiments are missing in this field. This leads to biased view of public and unfortunately also judges in judging criminal act in some cases. I describe my own research, which is focused on impulse of force of direct punch. A description of the experimental process with its elements, results and pictures of measurement creates part of this article. Dependences of impulse of force on input conditions (body height, body weight and gender) are also described.
