Influence of architecture on osteogenesis and angiogenesis in repair of segmental bone defects using β-tricalcium phosphate scaffold
This study demonstrated that manufacturing β-TCP implants with controlled shape could significantly promote the new bone formation and vascularization, and the tubular-shape scaffolds displayed more effective osteogenesis and angiogenesis than porous scaffolds, which offers new horizons about the influence of architecture on in vivo bioactivities of bone grafts, and increases the possibility of clinical repair of large bone defects with tissue engineering bone.
