摘要

Bauxite based synthetic grog (BSG) was industrially produced using bauxite with 70wt%Al2O3 as starting material and its properties were investigated.BSG and commercial special grade bauxite clinker in high alumina castables as aggregates were compared.BSG featured by mullite dominant phase,consistent composition,uniform microstructure and satisfactory properties can be industrially manufactured from middle or low grade bauxite by vacuum-extrusion moulding and sintering at high-temperature.By comparison,BSG can replace special grade bauxite clinker in high alumina castables as aggregates and the castable with BSG as aggregates has shown outstanding properties.
