Through the method of literature, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, we investigate 769 rural primary and junior high school of Zhumadian City, Henan Province, according to the survey, there are 473 left-behind children, that's the 61.5% of surveyed children.There are no significant differences between left-behind children and un-left-behind children, but there exist significant difference in mental health, however, among these left-behind children, the girls depression factor score significantly higher than boys. The mental health level of the junior high school left-behind children are lower than primary school left-behind children. Sporting behavior and parenting behavior are the two important factors to affect the physical and mental health of left-behind children in rural areas. The author proposed the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to the situation.
