Many investigations on the environmental vibration resulting from the underground railway traffic have been conducted in China and overseas.Most of the previous researches mainly pay attention to the mechanism of generation, and propagation of traffic-induced ground vibration and its effects on human comfort and sensitive equipments in buildings.However, the research of the crane-induced vibrations of buildings on top of subway has not been effectively reported.In reality,the overhauling cranes exist in the car depot and may produce the crane-induced vibration.The crane-induced vibrations of the buildings on top of subway are investigated in this paper through field measurement and numerical simulation.The dynamic responses of an eleven-story residential building over the subway platform are collected and thereby utilized to examine the structural serviceability.The vibration serviceability of the superstructures is evaluated in line with the specifications such as IS O1 0137 and BS6472.The analytical results indicate that the crane-induced vibration is very different from the train-induced and the vibration of the crane load, its vertical-track vibration in horizontal direction is the largest.The major frequency range of the original signals is all about 10~90 Hz.The analytical results can provide reference for evaluations for environmental vibration induced by overhauling crane.
