Statistics indicate there are many children who suffer from dyslexia. Eye tracking can be used as a very useful tool to track eye movements and highlight differences in the reading of dyslexics and non-dyslexics. Language is very important in determining learning disorders with children because the degree of the disorder may vary with language semantics. We aim to develop a program using eye tracking technology that helps in analyzing and processing the point of gaze to detect their reading patterns in Arabic texts. In this paper, we describe how we can use eye tracking technology to analyze the patterns and produce useful report for specialists to determine the type of problems that they have in order to develop effective remedial educational programs. In particular, it focuses on the analysis of visual attention on diacritics. Results of this study show that dyslexics exhibit more fixations count and longer fixations duration especially in words. However, the variation in visual attention on diacritics between dyslexics and non-dyslexic controls is not significant when diacritics are examined by themselves.
