In this study, subjective experiments were conducted to establish an evaluation method of floor impact sound by heavy-weight impact source based on maximum A-weighted sound pressure level produced by a rubber ball. In order to evaluate the experimental results using "rating-scale method" concerning relationship between some hearing impression and maximum A-weighted sound pressure level of floor impact sounds produced by standard sources of heavy-weight impact sounds which occur in buildings, by sources such as human walking and hopping. From these results, a correlation between subjective ratings by category scale in each heavy-weight floor impact sound was developed. Furthermore, subjective experiments showed that hearing impression, such as loudness and annoyance, etc. due to heavy-weight floor impact sounds were highly correlated with maximum A-weighted sound pressure level.
