Social intermediary organizations are those social organizations which play the roles of service, communication and supervision between government and the public, government and enterprises with characteristics of independence, justness and selfdiscipline, etc., and credibility is the principal factor of its operation and sustainable development. However, from weak supervision of food industry associations in food safety crisis to the exposure of non-government organizations' many illegal behaviors in recent years, which indicate that Chinese social intermediary organizations have serious system problems. They have decreasing social credibility, especially after the Guo Meimei Incident in recent and even fall into the "Tacitus Trap"1'1'. Based on case analysis, this paper takes the crisis of confidence of the Red Cross Society of China as an example to explore the causes of the crises, and tries to propose some coping measures to the sustainable development of Chinese social intermediary organizations.
