Soil erosion on slope was one of the key points in soil erosion research. Soil texture was one important factors influencing soil erosion. By indoor runoff scouring experiments, runoff erosion characteristics on the slopes with two different soils were studied systematically to reveal the influence of soil texture on soil erosion on the slope. Results indicated that the sediment yield increased fluctuate with scouring time with one or two peak values in the process. The time of peak sediment concentration appeared in advance with the increase of runoff discharge; influence of runoff discharge on soil erosion was not linear, and critical runoff discharge existed; the finer the soil particle was, the bigger soil detachment ratio was. Based on shear stress and runoff energy consumption theory, relations between the detachment rate and runoff shear stress, runoff energy consumption were established separately. The results showed that the critical runoff shear stress and the critical runoff energy consumption of some runoff experiments were less than zero. In comparison, the soil erosion based on the runoff energy consumption theory has a better precision than shear stress, and was better in description soil erosion on the slope.
