The paper summarizes new results of experimental investigations and numerical simulation of new-type highly effective linear electromagnetic (EM) vibrators located close to a metal wall and placed in the field of quasi-optical microwave (MW) beam.Essence of idea is that the behavior of a piece of a thin metallic wire, provided that its full length is comparable but not equal to half-wave-length (21 ~ X/2), placed in an electromagnetic (EM) field in parallel and very close to a metal plate differs radically from behavior of an electrically small (/ « k) conductor in the same place and far from perfectly conducting surface. In particular, its Q-factor and an electric field magnitude at the tips of such a vibrator dramatically increase that, in turn, gives us fine possibility to use such vibrator as excellent initiator of MW discharges in very weak fields of a remote low-power MW source or a resonant narrow-band absorber of electromagnetic radiation. Coefficients of amplification of the resulting MW fields and induced currents may exceed 10~3.
