The high temperature sustainability of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) written into Sn doped fibers with hydrogen (H_2) loading is examined. Compared with ordinary H_2 loaded FBGs, remarkable advantages are revealed for these FBGs asthey can sustain a temperature as high as 800°C for more than 24 hours and 900°C for 5 hours. In addition, a newencapsulation method of the FBGs under the high temperature is also examined.
