2D FLOOD SIMULATION IN DENSE URBAN AREA

In recent years, heavy rainfalls are increasing in Japan and induced inundations. An approach using analytical models is required when evaluating urban flooding damage quantitatively and formulating measures against future flooding. This study examined the applicability of 2D surface model of distributed analysis models to simulate urban flooding, by comparing the results of our previous physical model tests with the calculations by the analysis model. The findings of this study revealed that, by using finer mesh divisions, we were able to reproduce the results satisfactorily from our earlier experiments, with an analysis based on the analysis model. This indicates the applicability of the model in analysis of urban flooding.
