Experimental Investigation on the Seismic Behaviour of RC Beam to CFST Column Connections and the Influence of the Concrete Age during the Construction of CFST Structure

An experimental investigation into the seismic behaviour of a new developed CFST column to RC beam connections, which is utilized in a 37-storey-high commercial building in Dongguan city China,has been conducted. Moreover,the influence of the concrete age in the construction of CFST column of this project has also been evaluated with experi mental and numerical methods. In this paper, the connection designed for testing and project avoids the welding work in construction field. The cost and construction period are hence reduced enormously. Cyclic loading is applied on the specimens in the test with varies lengths of bracket beam. Two experimental strategies are also compared by applying the cyclic loading on the column top or beam end. In the part of the influence research of the concrete age during the construction of the CFST column, the performance data of specimens obtained from a series of tests, And comparative analysis the impact of the sub-structure construction on the safety. Also FEM used for analysis the in fluence of related factors in the construction. The study provides a reference to control the construction speed ra tionality.
