The promised benefits of software reuse are very high, yet still, software reuse remains probably the most elusive promise of object oriented programming. Achieving effective reuse requires a significant up-front effort, strict discipline and careful planning while its results are difficult to measure. The lack of clear measurements models often make it impossible for companies to measure the degree of success in applying reuse and to estimate the organizational gains from applying systematic software reuse. The current research presents an integrated measurement model based on MWAF (Multidimensional Weighted Analysis Framework) that allows practitioners to include software reuse metrics analysis in familiar project management techniques for measuring software reuse and project performance indicators.
