The Comprehensive Evaluation on Urban Residential Level: An Empirical Study of 35 Typical Cities

摘要

This paper evaluates residential level of 35 typical cities by applying projection pursuit model based on RAGA. And then, based on the results of evaluation, classifies on 35 cities using Ward's method with Euclidean distance measure. The result shows that urban residential level exists a big gap among 35 typical cities. And the residential level of our eastern cities is superior to the one of our central and western cities in general. Finally, 35 typical cities are divided into four kinds the classification results which accord with the fact were gained, which provide the decision base for Local Government to further raising urban residential level.
