摘要

In this presentation we have described several examples of using Raman spectroscopy to analyze various minerals. The combination of a research grade Raman spectrometer and a high quality data base of reference spectra provides a powerful tool for characterizing minerals and identifying unique geological features. In many cases a complete analysis can take less than five minutes with no sample preparation. Micro-domains can be analyzed with a Raman microscope while bulk samples can be easily measured using an upward looking Raman system with automatic focusing, exposure and fluorescence correction.
