Effect of Airlines’ Cabin Crew Training to their Flight Safety Performance

This study examines the impact of airlines’ cabin crew training to their flight safety performance, and to evaluate the effectiveness of the cabin crew’s emergency evacuation training, hence to understand whether the training performance would affect airlines flight safety. Kirkpatrick’s four-layer training performance assessment method is used as the base of this study. Factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA and SEM (Structure Equation Modeling) are used for data analysis. Most respondents agree that the training content can be clearly learned without language barrier if the airlines use domestic instructors. The airlines should improve the frequency in updating the training material. Also, the more practical drill and line learning should be added to training syllable, especially in emergency evaction. Last, the SEM method is used to assess the relationship between among training syllable, skill learning, operational performance and flight safety. Study shows that the training syllable positively affect skill learning, skill learning positively affect operational performance and flight safety, and operational performance directly affect airlines’ safety performance.
