Development of PLGA microspheres by an emulsification-extraction method without use of organic,halogenated solvents

A new emulsion-extraction method, based on aconventional O/W-emulsification method, ispresented here. Advantageously, by this method isthe use of glycofurol as polymer solvent comparedto the normally used solvents, because it is possiblethat way to circumvent the inconveniences oforganic, halogenated solvents. An optimalformulation could be achieved by variation of theprocess parameters. Resulting Microspheresappeared spherical, porous, with a smooth surfaceand a size around 300-400μm.
