Nanfeng mandarin (Citrus reticulita Blanco) belongs to the genus Citrus of the family Rutaceace which comprises more than 150 species naturally distributed throughout large parts of China. It is originated in Nanfeng county of Jiangxi province with more than 1300 years' cultivation history. It is one of the outstanding Citrus cultivars in China, and also the traditional local cultivar in Jiangxi province. With the increment of the cultivation area of different regions, more and more people begin to pay attention to the fruit quality ofNanfeng mandarin. Through a systematical assessment and analysis on the main fruit quality of Nanfeng mandarin from different production regions, the ecological differences of its fruit quality were studied, and the relations between major ecological factors and its fruit quality were analyzed in order to provide theoretical basis for the ecological quality plan and layout of Nanfeng mandarin, and for the expend of economic cultivation region. The researches were conducted for the main quality index and nutrient components of Nanfeng mandarin which came from 12 different places in Jiangxi province. The results showed that the fruit color, flesh quality, taste, SSC, ratio of SSC to TA, and Vc contents of Nanfeng mandarin from different cultivating regions were obvious differences. The fruit quality of Nanfeng mandarin had certain relativity with the main ecological factors such as weather and soil of different regions. The external and internal fruit quality with golden skin color, tender flesh, sweet flavor, high SSC and low TA which came from lower latitude places were better than those from higher latitude. The trend was existed that the fruit peel color, soluble flesh texture and taste of Nanfeng mandarin were weakened. The SSC, SSC/TA were reduced, and the fruit Vc contents were irregular change as the latitude increment.
