Cultural Exploration and Sublimation--The Design of Xu Xianxiu Tomb Fresco Hall

In order to effectively protect, reasonably exhibit and make good use of the human treasures, the authors designed a protection plan for Xu Xianxiu Tomb fresco hall by investigating the hundreds of pottery, epitaphs and other good buried with the dead Xu Xianxiu, Emperor Wu An, the highest military officer in North Qi Dynasty ( AD550-AD577 ). The authors use the pointed cross style as the main room space, with the fire textures of Zoro-astrianism and joint pearl lines of Buddhism, and the structure features the combination of beam-like truss structure and steel structure, which demonstrate the modern technology and deep cultural essence of Xu Xianxiu fresco hall.Taiyuan City in Shanxi Province, called Jin Yang in ancient China, is a historical and cultural old town with more than 2500 years history and abounding cultural heritage. North Qi Dynasty was Jin Yang's most prosperous and powerful period. At that time, Jin Yang was the another capital' of North Qi Dynasty, and also the center of national communication and aggregation in North. It was the most important political, military and economic center apart from the capital - YeCheng. Since 1950, there have been lots of tombs of North Qi Dynasty excavated. A-mong them, Xu Xianxiu fresco tomb in Wang Jia Feng county of Taiyuan City was the most spectacular. The research on Xu Xianxiu Tomb provides valuable materials for the research and investigation of the history and culture of the period. The protection of Xu Xianxiu Tomb fresco hall is part of the protection of valuable human cultural heritages.
