Amorphous and nanocrystalline magnetic materials are commercially produced for a wide range of applications. Soft magnetic amorphous materials have favorable magnetic properties due to the fast magnetization reversal with minimal magnetic loses. This unique combination of the soft magnetic properties is being utilized to develop energy-efficient power distribution transformers. Concurrently new amorphous magnetic materials are being developed for this application and other energy efficient devices.
