Empirical Study on Technological Innovation Capacity of Large and Medium-sized Industrial Enterprises in China's Middle Region

Economic growth and sustainable development of a country or a region is decided on their technological innovation capacity. The main players of technological innovation are enterprises, and the large and medium-sized industrial enterprises (LMIEs) are the main forces in the industrial sector at present in China, so the technological innovation capacity of LMIEs in a region is the main dynamic of regional economic growth and development. China's middle region has been growing fast in recent years, but the six provinces in the region are of great different growth, one of the main causes is that the technological innovation capacities of LMIEs are not same in different provinces. In order to understand their differences more clearly, we establish an evaluating indicator system and use factor analysis method and statistics of 2006 to do empirical study on the technological innovation capacity of LMIEs in China's 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. According to the study outcome, we make the comparison and analysis on the technological innovation capacity of LMIEs in the 6 provinces of China's middle region.
