In real assembly process, dolly trains are widely used to replace traditional forklifts for part delivery for better safetyand higher efficiency, which allows drivers to deliver more than one parts per trip but also raises two main problems. One is real time dispatching policies, the other is zoning configuration, which normally indicates how to define thecoverage area for each driver. For zoning configuration, different from previous straightforward practice, the concept of"limited overlapping" and "limited team work" should be taken into consideration. In this study, effective algorithmsand strategies are addressed and compared using virtual system simulation model to provide practical guidelines forreal time dolly material handling zoning configuration.
