Integrating Kanban Control with Advance DemandInformation: Insights from an Analytical Model

摘要

This paper investigates the benefits of integration of advance demand information (ADI) with the Kanban ControlSystem (KCS). ADI shared by customers is integrated into production release policies, enabling simultaneous improvementsin service levels and reductions in inventory and costs. Under Markovian assumptions, an exact analysisof the production system is carried out. Through numerical studies, the system performance is compared to thoseobtained from classical KCS and a base stock system with ADI.
