Polyethylenimine(PEI)-based antisense oiligodeoxy-nucleotide (AS-ODN) of interleukin (IL)-4 complexes were prepared. Optimal condensation ratios of complexes were determined by retardation and fluorescence decay assay. The physicochemical properties of complexes such as size, morphology and stability DNase I were analyzed. The transfection efficiency of complexes was evaluated in vitro. Furthermore, complexes were effective in alleviating of IL-4 level in the bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid when intranasally administrated into the murine model sensitized with ovalbumin.
