Preparation of an Emulsion Formulation of Clopidogrel for Intravenous Administration

A formulation of clopidogrel bisulfate (CB) for parenteral administration in an emergency setting for treatment of acute coronary syndrome, was developed and characterized. On reconstitution with an aqueous buffer, the lyophilized product produced a stable emulsion of the clopidogrel free base appropriate for intravenous injection.
