A Framework of Quantitative Analysis on the Relationship between Communication Effectiveness and Influencing Factors

There is a growing awareness that the importance of the communication between the project participants increases.This paper discusses the context of communication in construction projects.Complex projects involving multi-disciplinary organizations,contract arrangement and applied information techniques contribute to the challenge of communication between project participants.The basic theory of human communication and the researches on communication measurement in construction projects are reviewed.This study provides a framework for conducting a quantitative analysis on the relationship of inter-organisational communication variables at the construction stage in building projects.This framework leads to the on-going study to generate findings from the data collected through questionnaire surveys.
