In this paper we adopt a new perspective of classification by assigning various innovations to the matching types according to a more adopter-specific and user-oriented criteria which few literature has looked into. We found that most existing research literatures focus mainly on consumer innovations that are directly connected with ultimate users. Industrial complementary components of innovations as it made its debut as conceptualization in our taxonomy have received relatively limited research attention and thus been chosen as our exclusive research focus. Relevant determinants in the transfer process of the targeted type of innovations were identified in our study and the tailored research framework constructed which is shown as the relation model for this type of innovation transfer. The research framework was then examined by testing the hypotheses included in it with such survey and interview response as evidence. This study provides evidences for the proposed conceptualization as well as the determinants of the industrial complementary components of innovations transfer. The study also finds that the identified distinctions for this type of innovation against the others did account for the significant variance of commercialization course between them, and make critical difference between success and failure of the transfer. Both the conceptualization and determinants help explaining the issue.
