Amino acid-based Hydrogelators for Oral Delivery

Low molecular weight gelators have been used toformulate a poorly water soluble drug: furosemide.The presence of the gel in the formulation leads to alarge decrease in drug particle size due to limiteddiffusion. Gels showed a factor 4 increase infurosemide bioavailability with respect to a non-gelreference sample.
