Prevention of Fibrous Capsule Formation through Local Delivery of Dexamethasone

Dexamethasone (DEX) was used to delay theonset of fibrous capsule formation followingradiofrequency (RF) ablation. The local release ofdexamethasone complexed with hydroxypropyl betacyclodextrin (HP?-CD) from a polymer milliroddelayed fibrosis, and was more effective than anintraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of dexamethasone.
