Highly Plastic Granules for Preparation of Fast-Melting Tablets

To make fast-melting tablets (FMTs) bydirect compression methods, highly plasticgranules that can be compressed into tablets atlow pressure were developed. The highlyplastic granules are composed of threecomponents: porous and plastic materials;optional materials enhancing water penetration;and a wet binder. The porous and plastic natureof the granules allows fast absorption of waterinto the compressed tablet for fast dissolution ofthe tablet. The three-component highly plasticgranules provide an easy way of making fastmeltingtablets.
