Study on plan management system of ship design process WEB-based

Ship design is a very complex process. And it needs hundreds of the different discipline engineers spend more than ten months. So this process must be planned and managed efficiently. In this paper based on characteristics of ship design management in China’s shipyards the ship design process is broken down into a series of small tasks hierarchically by ship work breakdown structure(SWBS) and then optimized for a logical tasks scheduling by design structure matrix(DSM). In order to best applying datum of parent ship this paper presents a concept of ship design plan management template. Based on the template a new design plan can be drawn by adding, canceling and updating design tasks. Finally using ASP.NET technology Plan Management System of ship Design Process(PMSDP) is developed. The system comprises producing plan management template subsystem, drawing design plan subsystem and controlling design process subsystem. And when the system test finishes the system will be used in Dalian shipyard.
