The variational laws of apparent viscosity of Electrorheological (ER) suspensions withshear rates have been investigated by experiments. The results show that the variational lawsbehave differently in three stages of linear startup, non-linear power law mode and Bingham modeflowing when electrorhrological suspensions are exposed to electric field. The expressions andrelative variational values of apparent viscosity of ER suspensions at low and high shear ratesrespectively, which are based on (C6H10O5)n,TiO2-CeCl3,and SrTiO3/PANI particles at non-linearpower-law and Sisco flowing stages, have been obtained by the number of experiments.
