Production of vitroplants in laboratory at Kisoziresearch station in Burundi

The laboratory of Gisozi in Burundi constitutes the stage upstream for the production of thepotato seeds within the ISABU and even on a national scale. Recently, the laboratory hasbeen expanded and today , the output is more or less 50,000 vitroplants per campainmaking a total of 100, 000 vitroplants per year. As opposed to the past where the productionof vitroplants was carried out continuously, today they are being produced by campaign andthe calendar of activities which goes from July to October for the 1st season and fromDecember to March for the 2nd season has already been established. The production ofvitroplants is related to the 7 varieties released in the country. Moreover, the cloneCIP382171.4 which is about to be released will as well be multiplied in the laboratory.
