Nadcap -21st Century Aerospace Chemical Processors

The majority of the North American aerospace OEMs have mandated the utilization of Nadcap as additional surveillance for the chemical processors they use. The evolution of the aerospace finishing industry over the last twenty years has seen many changes in processes, people and equipment. Nadcap accredited processors are in the top echelon of the aerospace finishing industry. Finishers that plan to remain in the aerospace chemical processing industry in the 21st century must understand the reasons why Nadcap accredited chemical processors are more competitive, what is required for Nadcap accreditation and how the future of the industry is evolving. This paper will briefly review the recent history and development of the aerospace finishing industry, the advent of out-sourcing by OEMs of PQA activities, and how the industry members can benefit from becoming accredited by Nadcap.
