Effects of milling parameters on the formation of Al-Cr-Zr powders using high energy ball milling (HEBM) and low energy ball milling (LEBM) at different temperatures were investigated. The final size of aluminum crystallite at all milling methods except Warm-milling, which had 200 μm sized spherical large particles, was in the range of 15 to 20 nm. HEBM and Cryo-milling process have shown the faster powder morphological evolution as well as the faster grain size refinement than Ambi-milling and Warm-milling. The formation of metastable Al_3Zr_4 phase in high energy ball milled Al-Cr-Zr powders was identified by XRD and TEM analyses.
