Recent accounting frauds demonstrate the need for us to rethink the value and approach to ethics education in business. This paper describes a survey asking participants to assess the importance of sixteen factors that might have an effect on fraudulent financial reporting. Respondents included 100 business executives, 100 MBA students, and 100 college freshmen. The results show how perceptions of these sixteen factors change with education and work experience.
