摘要

A novel multilayer functionally gradient hydroxyaptite (HAp) coating with drug encapsulated in it has been successfully developed in our lab. Several layers of HAp coatings are deposited using different techniques, with different functions assigned to any particular layer. An in-situ drug encapsulation within the functionally gradient HAp coatings was achieved by combining elevated temperature sol-gel processing with room-temperature precipitation processing.
