PV 2010: AN UPDATE AND OBSERVATORY FOR THE MILLENNIUM

PV 2010 was published in 1996, and has become a "bench-mark" document on Photovoltaics. 10,000 copies were printed and distributed by the European Commission. An update of the original study, together with an online observatory to monitor developments in the global market for PV is now complete. The PV 2010 update reflects the many changes made in the European and global PV markets and industry since 1996 including studies of large new programmes, new products, new market players, changes in ownership of PV companies, new financing initiatives and international commitments on renewable energy in tackling climate change. This paper summarises the key developments and the main conclusions of the report.
