CHARACTERISTICS OF SO_2, NO_2, SOOT AND BENZO(a)PYRENE CONCENTRATION VARIATION ON THE EASTERN COAST OF THE BALTIC SEA

The investigation of SO_2, NO_2 ,soot and benzo(a)pyrene (BP) has been performed at the background station on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea since 1980. A significant decreasing trend has been observed for SO_2 and NO_2 , while soot and BP concentrations were changing insignificantly. The decreasing SO_2 and NO_2 high concentrations ( >l0μg*m~(-3)) have been determined in the air masses coming from the Western and Central Europe to Lithuania since 1990. The concentration of SO_2 in a range of 0-5μg*m~(-3) and the concentration of NO_2 in a range of 0-10μg*m~(-3) are characteric of the background atmospheric air.
