During the production process of manufacturing metal products from steel sheet, large amounts of corrosion preventives and lubricants are being used. The corrosion preventives provide corrosion protection of the metal until the final coating is applied on the metal product. The lubricants are being used during the cold metal forming in order to prevent damaging of the metal product and forming tools. From an economical and environmental point of view, the use of these agents is unfavorable because it involves time-consuming washing steps and chemical waste.
