this paper shows a new approach to Probabilistic Design in the mechanical field. The approach is directed to solve the problems that arise from time calculation needed by Probabilistic Design application (especially when simulation is used) when project evaluations are to be performed by finite elements calculations. The method, while integrate Design of Experiments, response surface method and simulation allows of obtaining reliable results in a brief period of time. in the present work the theoretic and application-oriented foundations of the method and an example that confirms the applicability of the showed approach are presented.
