摘要

In this paper we shall describe an ultrasound transducer, based on ferroelectric polymer technology, with controllable resonance frequency, that is capable of controlling axial resolution, penetration depth and improving the pulse-echo mode functioning. The high versatility and performance of the new broad-band and low frequency transducer make it possible to create elementary forms of bat-like sonars and, when properly actuated, could enable us to emulate the most sophisticated constant-frequency/frequency-modulation echo-location bio-system.
