Laser surface alloying is becoming an important tool for modifying the surface composition of varous relatively reactive substrates for enhancing their oxidation/corrosion resistance. In the present work, heat-exchange materials, namely 2.25Cr-1Mo and 9Cr-1Mo steels were modified y a single-step LSA using a 3 Kw Co sub 2 laser in continuous mode to achieve an increased chromium and nickel ocncnetration at the surface .A 50
