Quality gas from gob wells through interactive well operating practices

The production of gas using gob wells is a necessary tool in maintaining mine safety for longwall mining. Underground safety is greatly improved by removing the gas whether it is vented or produced for sales. The sale of methane from gob wells requires continuous quality control testing to assure that the gas going to sales is within the contract specifications because the gob is basically open and connected to the mine. Therefore the quality of the gas must be monitored more closely than standard gas wells.
