The North West Shelf (NWS) Project commenced production in 1984 with sales of Domestic Gas to Western Australia. Production increased significantly after LNG export to Japan began in 1989. With development of the Wanaea/Cossack oilfields and extraction of LPG in 1995 the NWS Project has become a major, integrated oil and gas development.
