Reconstruction of a railway station building in zone of high seismic activity

摘要

The railway station in Sochi (Russia) was built in 1952. It is an outstanding architecturalmonument. The dimensions of the main building are 145 e 52 m in plane. The height ofits separate parts exceeds 45 m.The railway station is situated within the zone of high seismicity. It was built on the site withcomplicated engineering-geological conditions. Irregular ground settlements under foundation ofthe main building have been happened during its maintenance. As a result there are many throughcracks in brick, concrete and reinforced concrete bearing structures.The information about the main building condition, on methods for more precise definition ofthe construction site seismicity, on dynamic test of the railway station highest part and data on antiseismicmeasures are considered in this paper.
